Acer Aspire 5 has dramatically improved exterior build quality with a premium and sturdy feel.
The laptop's trackpad is respectable and the keyboard is essential for general productivity.

The keyboard is really nice with curved keys that are sensitive and enjoyable to use.
The trackpad is also very responsive and nice to use.
Underneath, you'll find an Intel Core i7-7500U processor, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, a 256GB SSD, and eSATA for fast data transfer.
The laptop has a discreet Radeon 540 GPU, which provides good mid-range gaming performance.
The battery life is very good, lasting up to 590 minutes in our video rundown test.

Weaknesses

The speakers are not very good and don't have much volume.
They're not loud enough even when cranked up, making it hard to hear movies or audio.
The laptop's weight is a bit more than expected due to the discreet GPU, but still bearable at 3.8 pounds.
The AC adapter adds an extra 0.7 pounds, making the whole package feel slightly heavier.
