Pros and Cons

Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 714

Strengths

The full aluminium outer chassis has felt great every time I've picked it up. The rounded corners make it easy to hold, and its reasonable weight (1.45 kg) makes it portable.
Performance is no issue at all with the Intel Core Ultra 5 processor, making browsing and gaming a breeze. Battery life is also impressive, with close to 8 hours of mixed use (Acer claims up to 10 hours).
The device has plenty of connectivity options, including a HDMI port version 2.0, two Thunderbolt ports, and a quad HD webcam at the top of the screen.
The garaged active stylus works well and is a definite benefit for convertible use.

Weaknesses

The Intel Core Ultra 5 processor may not be powerful enough to handle demanding tasks like gaming, as seen with Call of Duty mobile season 10 crashing issues.
The fan and heat are still relatively minimal, but this may not be sufficient when pushing the device's capabilities.
The SSD in the device was slower than expected for transferring larger files, and it would have been ideal to have a USBC port on the right-hand side or another Thunderbolt Port for easier charging and data transfer.
There were occasional issues with the stylus tools prompt popping up when not in use, which seemed to be related to the device's firmware.

Samsung Galaxy Book

Strengths

The performance of The X Elite is impressive, outperforming current Intel Ultra 755 H in many tasks.
These laptops run so much cooler and quieter than their Intel and AMD rivals, making for a nice quality of life improvement.
A lot of big name apps have been optimized to run well on this laptop, offering good performance.
Samsung ecosystem features like quick share screen sharing and auto switch for Galaxy Buds add value to the device.
The 14in version is thinner, lighter, and cheaper than the 16in version, making it a great option for those who prefer smaller screens.

Weaknesses

The X Elite falls down in graphics performance compared to Intel and AMD's integrated GPUs, particularly AMD which is quite faster.
The larger screen size can be a distraction from productivity tasks.
The trackpad on the larger model is not ideal for those who prefer smaller screens.
The higher price point of around £15500 for the 16in version may be off-putting to some buyers.
There are still some apps that haven't been optimized to run well on this laptop, which can lead to subpar performance and battery life.
