Pros and Cons

Acer Swift Go 14 OLED

Strengths

A gorgeous OLED display with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate, accurate color reproduction, and excellent viewing angles.
Intel's latest Core Ultra processors offer powerful performance and a massive leap in graphics capabilities thanks to the new integrated R GPU.
The laptop is super light, weighing only around 1.3kgs, making it easy to carry around in a backpack.
The keyboard feels good to type on with nicely laid out keys and different levels of backlighting.
The trackpad has been improved with a larger size and more responsiveness, making everyday usage a breeze.

Weaknesses

The 1440p webcam struggles to deliver impressive video quality, even in well-lit rooms, with poor exposure and contrast levels.
The fans can get pretty loud when pushing the laptop to its limits, which may be a concern for those who plan to use it extensively.
Single-core performance has seen a slight dip compared to the previous generation, although multi-core performance remains strong.
The glossy finish on the OLED display can be distracting in bright environments and may cause headaches at times.
The price point of around 1 lakh rupees or $1000 may be considered high for what the laptop offers, especially considering the availability of last year's model at a lower price.

Acer Predator Helios 18

Strengths

The 18in QHD 250Hz mini LED display is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for media consumption and games.
Performance is right where it should be, with unfr CPU performance in turbo mode and competitive results in our benchmarks.
The RTX 480 GPU performs admirably, being one of the fastest of NVIDIA's second best mobile cards we have ever tested.
System performance is also very snappy, both subjectively and backed up by our PC Mark 10 tests.
The design approach ASA is taking with their 2023 Helios lineup is tasteful and well-executed, with a fine line between gamer and subtle performer.

Weaknesses

The notebook performs rather poorly in our SSD benchmarks, with the Samsung Drive offering some very fast initial read rates that get fuddled quite severely rather quickly.
Fan noise can be an issue, especially in turbo mode, which makes the Helios one of the loudest notebooks we have ever tested.
Battery life is not great, with around 4 and 1/2 hours in our Wi-Fi test with the screen and SDR set to 150 nits.
The webcam is just okay, if nothing special.
Throttled SSD performance under prolonged and probably also not very realistic load can be a limitation.
