Pros and Cons

Alienware m15 R6

Strengths

The screen had decent brightness, color gamut and advanced Optimus with MUX switch.
I was impressed that it wasn’t getting as hot on the internals compared to other Dell/Alienware models, I didn’t even have to adjust the TCC offset which could be used to control temperatures at the expense of performance.
The keyboard and touchpad were decent, though I can’t see myself paying $150 USD more for the upgrade to Cherry keys.
Gaming on an external screen with HDMI plus Optimus off was slower than Optimus on for some reason, hopefully that’s just some sort of buy that can be fixed.
DisplayPort output over Type-C wasn’t working in my unit, hopefully that’s just mine.
The keyboard and touchpad were decent, though I can’t see myself paying $150 USD more for the upgrade to Cherry keys.

Weaknesses

No specific cons listed for this device

Asus ZenBook 13 UX334

Strengths

The laptop has a gorgeous display with minimal bezels, making it compact and beautiful to look at.
The keyboard is decent, with fine keystrokes and 1.4 mm key travel, although some may find it lacking in responsiveness.
The ScreenPad+ is a treat to use, offering a mobile-like experience, allowing you to launch apps, set custom shortcuts, and more.
The laptop features an eighth-generation Intel i7 chip, paired with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of PCIe SSD, making it a powerful device for light tasks.
Battery life is decent, with around 5 hours of use including web browsing, streaming, and two displays running simultaneously.
The compact charger takes just under two hours to fully juice the laptop, which is convenient.

Weaknesses

The touchpad on the ScreenPad+ can be laggy, making it difficult to register taps accurately.
The audio setup is not great, with flat sound, no bass, and hushed vocals, making it unsuitable for music or video playback.
The speakers are not loud enough, and the bottom-firing design doesn't enhance the sound quality.
The ScreenPad+ can be a mixed bag, offering some benefits but also drawbacks in terms of usability.
The previous generation UX333 offered better value for money, making it a more attractive option for some users.
Some may find the lack of significant upgrades from the previous generation disappointing, especially considering the price.
