Pros and Cons

Alienware m15 R7

Strengths

The Alienware M15 R7 features Intel's latest 12th gen processors, which provide excellent performance.
It has 64 gigs of 4800 megahertz DDR5 RAM, a powerful combination for gaming and heavy workloads.
The laptop's 3070 TI GPU provides excellent scores in benchmarking tests like 3D Mark Time Spy and Fire Strike Extreme.
The keyboard is RGB backlit with variable brightness and has a comfortable 1.8mm key travel, making it ideal for gaming or typing.
The laptop features stereo speakers that work well for calls and occasional YouTube videos, although they lack bass in gaming scenarios.
The Alien Command Center provides numerous settings for performance and power consumption, as well as overclocking options.

Weaknesses

The laptop's body is very dark but not quite black, which may not appeal to those who prefer a more classic look.
The keyboard's RGB backlight can be distracting in bright environments, although it can be turned off or adjusted for brightness.
The trackpad appears small compared to other laptops, although it tracked gestures accurately in Windows 11.
The webcam is only 720p resolution and may not be ideal for video conferencing or streaming due to its subpar quality.
Thermal throttling occurs when the CPU reaches high temperatures during stress tests, potentially affecting performance in heavy workloads.
The underside of the laptop gets too hot to use on a lap and the area above the keyboard is also quite warm.

Acer Chromebook 516 GE

Strengths

This Chromebook gets so much right and it's such an absolute Delight to use that even if you've not been into bigger Chromebooks before or you don't consider yourself a gamer, this device still has a whole lot to offer.
The internal display held up pretty well getting me through a full day of work with around seven to eight hours of screen on use
It's no surprise that I've not had any issues from a performance standpoint in this processor and GPU should fare quite well when Steam games do show up in the next few months as well
I'm satisfied with the battery life and can confidently get these numbers even with the brightness of the screen pushed up to like 65-70 percent now
This isn't just another Chromebook and to see it arrive at this sort of price point is a little crazy, I'm sure there are going to be sales on it down the road or whatever but I don't need to see it reduced one bit to recommend it right now

Weaknesses

For one, I'd love to see one more USB type A port as a gaming focused device
I really like having touch input on the screen and the lack of it has been a little bit of a bummer
The backlighting on the keyboard is a bit too dim for my liking
I'd really like to see a fingerprint scanner on this Chromebook once we get over 600 bucks I think this should be just a standard option
