Pros and Cons

Asus Chromebook CM14 Flip

Strengths

The garage USI 2.0 stylus is a great selling point and easy to use.
It's a pretty versatile device with convertible nature that opens up a number of ways of using it.
Battery life is balanced against performance, allowing for general use throughout the day and into a second day.
The speakers are loud and have good quality, especially when on a flat surface like a desk.
It's great for light gaming and browsing with the Mediatek Compano 520 processor handling games like Real Racing 3 smoothly.

Weaknesses

The build is all plastic and has an extra smooth top that feels unpleasant and attracts fingerprints easily.
Weight is not the lightest at 1.56 kg, making some allowance for the touchscreen necessary.
The webcam is standard 720p and doesn't blow you away, though it does have a manual privacy slider.
The touchpad feels cheap with slight movement when tapping and a bit of noise too.
Some CM14 Flip model options don't come with the optional stylus, even if they support the stylus on their screen.

Asus ZenBook Flip 14 UM462

Strengths

The Asus Zenbook flip 14 is a fine machine for everyday computing tasks, handling multitasking without any signs of lag or stuttering.
It has an acceptable score of three hours and 54 minutes on our standard battery benchmark test
The touchscreen display is bright and colorful with natural colors and sufficient brightness for daylight use
The keyboard is amongst the most comfortable I've seen on a convertible laptop, with large three-stage backlit keys
The touchpad is modern and precise, supporting multi-finger taps and swipes natively on Windows 10
It's built very well, with a firm smooth laptop body made of aluminum and magnesium alloy

Weaknesses

Battery life could have been a lot longer, lasting only about three hours and 54 minutes on our standard battery benchmark test
The battery drains sharply when enabled keyboard backlighting
The stylus isn't suitable for drawing, with poor touch accuracy and low pressure sensitivity
The speakers are hollow, lacking clear lows and making it unsuitable for full-blown entertainment
The laptop is on the heavier side at 1.66 kg, making it difficult to use as a tablet
The battery drains faster than expected, lasting only about three hours and 13 minutes with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on
