Pros and Cons

Asus ProArt PX13

Strengths

A culmination of years of managing to miniaturize and make processors more efficient, you can get this much horsepower in a convertible 13in laptop.
The pen support is great for creative types who need to do selections, outlines, rough sketching, all that sort of thing, and note taking.
A very tactile keyboard, it's white backlit, not gaming perky RGB or something like that but tactile nice to type on.
Ports are not constrained in the least bit despite the small size, you've got HDMI 2.1 frl, a usba port, two USBC 4.0 40 gbit per second ports, and a Micro SD card slot.
Stereo drivers surrounding Harmon Card certified, pretty good sound given the size of the laptop actually
The SSD is a Western Digital SN 740 SSD, it's socketed Wi-Fi card is Wi-Fi 7 here with Bluetooth on board, and Ram like I said is soldered on board so you won't be upgrading them.
The price is not that bad, it's $1700 for the 4050 model, and $2000 for the 4060 model with 2 terabytes instead of the 4050 and one terabyte.

Weaknesses

Battery life is a concern, averaging about 8 hours for light use like web browsing and stuff like that, which is not as good as the latest surface laptop running a Snapdragon processor.
The trackpad is in haptic, but it's a shame given the tier that this is in, it works though it's fine
Given the x86 architecture, it may not beat the M3 or the Snapdragon platform in 2024 when it comes to battery life
Removing the bottom cover could be even worse than it is, with only a few Torx T6 screws holding it together.
The charging connector on this is a small rectangular one that uses 200 watts, which is beyond the remit of USBC if you want to run this thing at full power
It's not the skinniest laptop out there, but it's not so different from a 13-in MacBook Pro when it comes to that either
Averaging about 8 hours for light use like web browsing and stuff like that with the brightness set to 200 nits is passable but not exactly impressive

Acer Predator Triton 14

Strengths

The laptop has a great build quality, still a stellar product.
It shows improved performance over last year's model.
Acer has done a really good job optimizing the components in this laptop.
It offers great performance for blender with RTX 4070 and i7 processor.
This comes in around $2000 and has just as good if not better performance than other models in the same category.
It's a great bang for buck option for people considering a 14-inch laptop for their creative needs especially 3D modeling.
The laptop shows great results in video editing, with stellar performance on 4K video editing.

Weaknesses

RAM is soldered to the motherboard so that 16 gigs is your limitation
This is not a cheap laptop, but for the price and category it sits in, it's a really good bang for buck.
There are some drop frames on 6K red footage at 2560x1200 resolution.
Export time for 6k B raw was around 18 minutes and 48 seconds, which is not great but still under the 20 minute mark
The laptop's performance in 1080p export time was great, but the score of 38 seconds was not mentioned what to compare with
Acer has struggled to show improvements in some laptops in 2023, however this one did not disappoint.
Last year's model was a really good performer and it's hard to say if the new model is truly an improvement.
