Asus ZenBook 14 UX435

Strengths

The ZenBook 14 is extremely thin and light, weighing just over a kilo and easily fitting in its discrete sleeve.
It has an all-metal build that looks sharp both figuratively and literally.
The lid sports a zen-inspired concentric circle design and a special shine giving it a combination of flashy yet premium vibe.
The sunken keyboard is comfortable to type on.
The screen pad is incredibly useful, making workflows faster and opening up more ways to accomplish tasks.
It's capable internals make certain functions easier to accomplish.
The battery life is decent, lasting for almost 5 hours of continuous usage with a full charge.
The starting price of PHP 64,995 for the 11th gen i5 variant is competitive.

Weaknesses

It can get hot on the upper part of the chassis during intense usage, but it's not bothersome.
Playing games at high graphics settings can be a challenge, but it's still playable.
The battery life could be better, lasting only 5 hours with continuous usage.
The screen pad might drain the battery if used extensively, but it goes to a battery saving mode when not in use.
It's not ideal for resource-intensive games at high graphics settings.
Usage varies from person to person, so individual results may differ.

Dell Latitude 14 5420

Strengths

Dell's Latitude presents itself as an overall solid allround office device.
The upgradeability is excellent and none of the major components are soldered.
A generously equipped allround business laptop that leaves nothing to be desired in terms of connectivity and security.
We measured a real-world Wi-Fi runtime of almost 13 hours at a display brightness setting of 150 nits.

Weaknesses

The chassis is neither thin nor lightweight and likely will not win any design awards either.
Unfortunately, there are a few missteps here as well, as our review will show.
The 720p camera in the lid is barely worth mentioning. It captures washed-out pictures that suffer from immediately noticeable artifacts.
The input device changes did not pan out. Instead of mouse buttons and a Trackpoint, the Latitude offers a clickpad with haptics so poor that even die-hard reviewers resort to connecting a USB mouse.
