Pros and Cons

Dell G15

Strengths

This laptop is performing where it should be, especially in gaming. It can handle games at QHD with no problem.
The battery life kind of sucks, but it does everything else pretty well if you have a lower expectation.
It has good performance for an RTX 4060, and there's enough ports to use them.
The fan noise is interesting because if you have it on turbo mode it's obviously going to get loud, but you can switch to balanced or quiet profile to be quieter.
It does well in terms of heat, sitting around 91 to 92 degrees Celsius, which is a little bit harder than I'd like it to be.

Weaknesses

The battery life is probably its weakest point, only getting three hours and five minutes before needing to charge.
The G key automatically takes you in and out of turbo mode without any indication that pops up when you're in turbo mode.
There's no Thunderbolt 4 Port, which might be a drawback for some users.
The battery life is very short compared to other laptops, especially considering its price point.
Even though it has good performance, the Dell G5 is not a bad laptop but based on its price point I'd still try to find a laptop that's on sale from last year.

Dell XPS 15 9510

Strengths

Dell's have famously had some qc issues in the past so we'll have to see if you do balance for yourself and have any issues, but so far so good.
If you want a premium portable powerhouse, this is very very good.
It would be great if they got rid of that 56 watt hour battery on the base full hd watt version if you could get that 86 watt hour battery with the full hd screen you'd have a really really good battery life and it'd be a great 15-inch travel laptop
The actual plug itself is black, so that kind of ruins the theme a little bit uh but it is pretty portable and like last year it still charges via usbc which is nice so you can use that for your phone as well assuming you're on android.
It's always pricey, but very good.
You can't really get better than this if you want a premium portable powerhouse.
The battery life is okay, i'm getting about six hours of use i'd say it's on par with last year and of course if you are gaming you'll get about an hour and a half with lower performance as well so with light use it will get you through a full office day probably
The webcam is pretty bad which is a real shame given how important that is these days also it's a bit of a shame we have to compromise with the 3.5 k res on the oled model uh it would be the best of both worlds if we had proper 4k but it's not really a big deal i guess
