Pros and Cons

Dell G7 17

Strengths

The 17 inch gaming laptops are the best, they're probably the best for content creation as well all comes down to screen size
It comes with an intel i7 8 750 h2 that's a 6 core 45 watt CPU and our TX 2060, full fat our TX 2016 not mxq which is like pushing at high settings FPS beyond 1070 max cues
The performance difference in gaming between the eighth and ninth generation is so small, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference unless you benchmark it
It comes with 16 gigabytes dual-channel of course you can upgrade that, replace the hard drive or SSD if you want m2 SSD in here as well all upgradable memory
The temperatures get up pretty high when running Cinebench or long runs but still maintains 3.9 GHz when gaming, which is awesome for performance
It has a good display with 60 Hertz and decent sound, plus all the ports you need like USB, SD card reader, full-size HDMI out, mini DisplayPort out and Thunderbolt 3

Weaknesses

The display is not gonna be as good as the premium laptops and it's an entry-level one so your angles aren't like the premium
The RGB keyboard is not that bright to be perfectly honest but it doesn't look juvenile
It gets hot when running Cinebench or long runs which can maintain 3.9 GHz when gaming, temperatures get up pretty high
If you under volt the CPU it will just boost higher and the temperatures will go up because it'll just give you the maximum performance even if you under bolt
The thermals are not as good as some other laptops but it's still a great performer
It's a 17 inch laptop which is a commitment, but the gaming experience is awesome

HP ENVY 13

Strengths

It's a lot of laptop for your money in terms of what you get not in terms of size and weight because it's very thin and very light
You get a pretty good deal with the core i7 quad core 15 watt ultrabooks CPU inside, 8 gigs of ram DDR4, and a 256 gig nvme SSD
The Microsoft precision trackpad is definitely a plus and it's a nice looking screen that's surprisingly bright, often 4k displays particularly with HP
Battery life on this will depend on when you get the full HD or the 4k display option, but it has a 53 hour battery which is healthy for your premium ultra book
The laptop has pretty good banging on some branded quad speakers which is a thing that HP has been doing

Weaknesses

You can't upgrade the RAM after the fact because it's soldered on
The rubber strips along the bottom are difficult to remove and may need to be replaced
It doesn't have Thunderbolt 3, but USBC offers an unprecedented display out hubs and all that sort of thing
Opening up the laptop is a bit of a pain due to the adhesive self-destructing rubber strips
The thermals are not perfect, with the laptop sometimes getting too hot to touch above the keyboard area
