Pros and Cons

Dell Inspiron 14 3420

Strengths

It has a good typing experience and the integration of the touchpad is good too.
The battery power lasts long, making it suitable for work or school use throughout the day.
It performs well with office suite tasks and installing programs without any fan noise or overheating.
Having Wi-Fi 6 is a nice addition to the laptop's features, providing faster connections.
The speakers on the laptop are decent and good for listening to audio around it.

Weaknesses

The screen brightness could be improved, as it has a somewhat flat appearance.
The hinge requires two hands to open, which may be inconvenient for some users.
The MSRP is $549, which might be out of budget for some buyers. However, sales and discounts can make it more affordable.
It's not the most amazing laptop in terms of specs or features, but it gets the job done.
The bottom has the speaker ports, which could potentially cause distractions in quiet environments.

Asus VivoBook 15

Strengths

P series I5 chip combined with 16 gigabytes of RAM makes this a good value
Day-to-day activities like web browsing or watching HD content work great
Intensive activities like coding or 3D modeling are totally doable thanks to that healthy 16 gigabytes of RAM
Gaming is also very much possible in a casual capacity, for example Fortnite can run at a healthy sustain 30 frames per second with that integrated Iris XD Graphics at lower medium settings
Thermals on this machine were also pleasantly surprising, under unrealistic Peak loads we only hit a maximum surface temperature of about 44 degrees Celsius
Battery life is right there in the middle, So based on our test depending on the kind of activities you're doing you can get up to eight hours on a single charge

Weaknesses

Port standards are pretty outdated
The keyboard and webcam quality is Highly Questionable
Speakers seem like an afterthought, with no base, very limited Clarity and a ton of distortion under higher volume levels
Display's color quality is approximately 45 ntsc or 56 srgb, which means it might not be suitable for color sensitive activities
Hinge quality is below average, there's a fair bit of wobble dated at single hinge mechanism
Subpar 720p webcam, I am 99 sure this is the camera they use to capture those Shady UFO sightings which look pixelated as heck
