Pros and Cons

Dell Latitude 14 7430

Strengths

The laptop has security features that make it a great Enterprise machine
The convertible form factor makes it easy for presentations and working together in a team
The selection of materials is flawless, with a durable aluminum chassis
The laptop is very portable, weighing only 1.44 kilograms and having an 18.7 millimeters profile
The keyboard has long key travel and clicky feedback
The touchpad works really well with a smooth glass surface and tactile clicking mechanism
The display has great viewing angles, peak brightness of 305 nits, and high contrast ratio
The laptop's battery unit lasts for up to 12 hours and 30 minutes of web browsing

Weaknesses

The laptop is an expensive device
The hinges get stiffer after 90 degrees, which can be a drawback
Limited upgrade ability due to soldered memory
PWM usage up to 74 nits may cause eye strain for some users
The cooling setup can push the CPU above its TDP limit, leading to high temperatures
Single fan can't produce a lot of noise, but it's not a major concern
DDR4 RAM on U-series chip might be slower than DDR5 RAM on P-series chip
Storage upgrade is limited due to only one M.2 slot

Apple MacBook Pro 13

Strengths

The MacBook Pro 13 with 16GB of RAM feels like a totally different machine, like a PRO and non-Pro laptop. With an extra 8 GB of RAM I am witnessing a totally different machine.
The battery life is excellent, lasting for ages even when editing or playing games. The 20 hours of claimed battery life is no joke with all M1 battery-powered machines.
The panel is plenty bright and colour-accurate, making it suitable for creative work such as graphic design and video edits.
The speakers are great and deliver satisfying results, although not as immersive as other options.

Weaknesses

8GB of RAM may be insufficient for resource-hungry tools and tasks, leading to hesitation and slowness when needed most.
CleanMyMac X often needs to remind you to free up disk space and memory resources, which can become a daily habit.
The baseline 8GB M1 MacBook Pro is snappy in basic tasks but becomes hesitant and slow when working with resource-hungry tools.
The need for frequent restarts and force quitting can be frustrating and may compromise work efficiency.
