Pros and Cons

Dell Pro 14 Plus

Strengths

Solid build
Nice new minimalist design theme
Modernized IO ports
Performance is very competitive
Modernized thermos have also improved significantly
Games like Counter Strike 2 comfortably run north of 60 frames per second
Thermals were the key problem with Dell laptops in the past however ever Dell really has turned a new Leaf over here
Self-upgradability is very limited, but you can technically upgrade the m.2 drive

Weaknesses

Cheap skate moments where Dell has some questions to answer
QA issue on my device slightly wobbling at a certain degree of tilt with the actual hinges
Display is unacceptable with full HD display and 60 HZ refresh rate at 300 nits peak brightness
Plastic surface trackpad is cheap skate moment
Limited upgradability, only m.2 drive can be upgraded
Fan noise not so much, hits mid 60 DB when anything moderately intensive
Speaker quality is not top of their mind and experience is pretty flat
Current MSRP pricing is expensive and justifies a $25% cheaper price tag

Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7640

Strengths

It's a very nice laptop, I think you could actually probably upgrade stuff it does have the screws on the back you can pull this thing apart and uh possibly upgrade stuff
It has a cooling fans on the bottom very very nice laptop
The keys are backlit and they're a little bright let's go ahead and turn my light off I don't know if you guys can see see that there but they are back lit so super cool there
It does have some vents here on the side on the back uh that looked really really nice I like the color it does look gray but I'm going to tell you it's it's like a light blue
The Dell logo looks very nice and it has a light blue-ish gray color
It would make a great birthday gift, present for Mother's Day, um a present for your wife your kids a graduation present going to college this would be perfect
It was strong enough and powerful enough for me to run DJ Sado super happy with it

Weaknesses

The display is not 4K but hey it's perfect enough for what I'm doing
There are two different kinds of charging ports, which can be confusing
I wish the backlit keys were a bit brighter, but they're just right for a darker room
It was pricey when I ordered it ($1,100), and even now it's still quite expensive ($1,500)
The laptop has some vents on the side and back that might get in the way of your lap or desk
It doesn't have any standout features compared to other laptops in its class
I wish I had done a full review before using it for my gigs this year
