Pros and Cons

Dell XPS 17 9700

Strengths

The display is excellent, with a high-quality screen that's perfect for content creation and media consumption.
The speakers are quite good, with nice sound in the bass response and well-tuned frequency response.
The laptop has a big battery (97 Wh) that provides around 7 hours of light use, making it suitable for an 8-hour workday.
The larger form factor means you get better cooling, performance, and speakers compared to the smaller XPS 15.

Weaknesses

The cooling system can't sustain high-performance levels due to limited power from the 130W charger.
The keyboard has short key travel, making it not enjoyable for tasks like programming or typing for extended periods.
The right USB-C port position interferes with some mouse setups that use an adapter with a long cable.
The price of the 4K touch display is an additional $400 compared to the standard display.

HP ProBook 445 G11

Strengths

The laptop weighs less than 1.5 kg, making it easy to carry around in a bag without feeling heavy or uncomfortable.
The keyboard is spacious, has nice key travel, and even has a mute button for the system audio and microphone.
The silver color with classic HP branding looks minimal and professional. The hinge is sturdy, and there's minimal wobble when using it on a lap or desk.
The laptop has most necessary ports, including HDMI, USB 3, Type-C Thunderbolt, Ethernet, and headphone jack.
Our Ryzen 7 variant delivered decent scores in benchmarks like Cinebench R23 (9,100) and Geek Ben 6 (6,781).
We got around 8-9 hours of battery life with 70% brightness doing normal tasks.

Weaknesses

The 14-inch 1080p display could have better brightness and color reproduction. It's also prone to smudges and fingerprint marks.
The speakers at the bottom lack bass, and sound is muffled when placed on a couch or sofa.
While watching videos or listening to music, we found the laptop lacking in terms of display quality and speaker performance.
As expected, this isn't a gaming laptop, but it's also not optimized for gaming. Don't try gaming on it if you're a serious gamer.
The price might be steep, with the Ryzen 5 variant starting from around ₹60,000.
The display is not ideal for media consumption, with lackluster brightness and color reproduction.
