Pros and Cons

GIGABYTE G6

Strengths

GIGABYTE has picked out the best components for your gaming laptop within the scope of being like a budget-friendly laptop.
The right CPU and GPU combination provides great performance without breaking the bank.
A 75W RTX 460 with 8GB video RAM is perfect for high resolutions such as 1920x1200.
A 16:10 display with 165Hz refresh rate is ideal for gaming, providing a smooth experience.
The laptop comes with two DDR5 slots and two M.2 slots, allowing for flexible storage options.
Wi-Fi 6E and plenty of ports (including Ethernet, mini DisplayPort, HDMI, USB-C, audio jacks, and micro SD card slot) make it easy to connect peripherals.

Weaknesses

The display could be brighter with around 250 nits, which is relatively typical for this price point.
Battery life is limited, lasting around 4 hours due to the Intel 12/13th gen CPUs' power-hungry nature.
The keyboard is full-size, which can take up some space on the laptop's deck.
The trackpad's offset placement can be a bit clunky with the full-size keyboard in place.
No mention of how well the cooling system performs under heavy loads or prolonged gaming sessions.
Some may find the weight of 2kgs (4.4lbs) to be slightly above average for a laptop of this size.

HP ENVY x360 14

Strengths

I like the gorgeous OLED displays on both the 14 and the 16
The variable refresh rate up to 120 htz on both models is a great feature
The all-metal design is pretty Rock Solid, and the overall build is really good here
Good Port selection, and good battery life on both the 14 and the 16
I like the darker keys that they're using here making it easier to see the backlight when it's on
The improved hinges means less screen wobble when typing, which is a big Improvement
You're also getting pretty nice audio on both the 14 and the 16

Weaknesses

Negative: soldered Ram, which is part for the course year 2024
AMD model caps out at 16 GB of RAM where you can go up to 32 on the Intel based model
No SD card reader on either unit
The pen is sold separately, I kind of wish it was included, it would have been more of a value there
On the AMD model specifically no USB 4 which would have given you that Thunderbolt type functionality
You are stock with USB 3.2 Gen 2, which is a little disappointing
Mediatech Wi-Fi 6E on the AMD model, not the Wi-Fi 7 that you get on the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor
