Pros and Cons

Honor V Purse

Strengths

The Honor Magic V Purse has a nice weight box, the device itself is surprisingly thin and light at 4.3mm unfolded and 8.6mm folded, weighing only 214g, which is impressive considering its competitors.
It comes with a case that has a latch system allowing you to use the phone while still keeping the case on when folded, this is a great feature.
The screen display is good, with a 6.45-inch screen and a high refresh rate of 90Hz, although it's not a flagship device, it's an upper-mid tier phone.
It has a decent battery life with a 4,800mAh battery, and supports 33W fast charging, no wireless charging though.
The hinge is sturdy, and the phone opens up easily to reveal two cameras on the back.

Weaknesses

One of the main drawbacks is that it doesn't come with any form of strap or connector to attach a strap, which was expected considering its purse-like design.
The protection offered by the case when folded might not be as much as some users would expect, and it's all screen, so there's no fully-covered screen like on some other devices.
It doesn't have wireless charging, which is a minor drawback for some users.
It has dual cameras with 50MP main lens and 12MP ultra-wide lens, but video recording is only at 1080p on the front camera, while rear cameras can do 4k at 30fps.
The refresh rate of the screen might be considered low by some users, especially when compared to flagship devices with higher refresh rates.

vivo Y300

Strengths

A budget-friendly smartphone that doesn't compromise on features.
Boasts a sleek design, a moly display, and robust performance.
The phone's slim profile and lightweight build make it comfortable to use one-handed.
The 6.67 in AMOLED display is a highlight of the Vivo Y300 with 1 billion colors, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and Peak brightness of 1800 nits.
Performance is smooth for everyday tasks, light gaming, and multitasking thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset and octacore CPU.
The phone's fast charging capability gets you up to 80% battery in just 30 minutes.

Weaknesses

Lacks some flagship-level features.
Doesn't have the fastest UFS storage standards, with UFS 2.2 instead of UFS 3.0 or higher.
The absence of a 3.5 mm headphone jack might be a drawback for those who prefer wired headphones.
The phone's IP64 certification means it's only dust and water resistant, not fully waterproof.
The camera's 1080p video recording at 30 frames per second might not be as smooth as some other phones in this price range.
The device runs on Android 14 with FunTouch OS 14, which might not be the latest software available.

Honor V Purse

The Honor Magic V purse has been released alongside the Honor V2, featuring a unique design and specifications. Upon unboxing, the device is revealed to have a nice weight box with a Sim ejection tool, but surprisingly lacks a strap, which was expected for the VP purse concept. In terms of specs, the Honor Magic V purse boasts an upper-mid-tier phone configuration, including a 6.45-inch 90Hz display, Snapdragon 778 chip, dual cameras (50MP main and 12MP ultra-wide), and 1080p front video recording with the ability to use rear cameras for 4K 30fps video. The device is powered by a 4,800mAh battery with 33W charging. One notable feature of the Honor Magic V purse is its thinness, measuring just 4.3mm when unfolded and 8.6mm when folded. This makes it significantly thinner than its competitor, the Huawei MXS2, which measures 9mm thicker. The device's total weight is 214g, a remarkable achievement considering its specs. The reviewer notes that while the Honor Magic V purse may not be a flagship device, it offers an impressive balance of features and design at an upper-mid-tier price point. Overall, the Honor Magic V purse presents a unique take on the folding phone concept, offering a slim and lightweight design without compromising too much on performance.
