HP EliteBook 840 G9

Strengths

The fact that you got really good upgradeability here, the ram, the SSD, the Wi-Fi card and the wireless Wan it's all upgradable by the user
A excellent outstanding keyboard and touchpad
A bright sharp 14 inch display
A 5 megapixel webcam in terms of getting your video conferencing done has been pretty good
The performance has been very good on this with that 12th Gen processor I expect this to get outfitted with 13th gen at some point here in 2023
Decent battery life, it did 9 hours and 27 minutes on the PC Mark 10 modern office battery test
Good audio quality from Bang & Olson tune speakers

Weaknesses

No 4K option which would have been nice but on a business laptop not essential so I understand why they went with that
No OLED option which would have been nice but on a business laptop not essential so I understand why they went with that
No ethernet port or SD card slot which would have been nice
The audio speakers can get a little bit expensive
12th Gen processor is getting outdated and will be replaced by 13th gen soon, which might be a concern for some users
Not as feature-rich as other business laptops like X1 Carbon gen 10 and the 11

HP EliteBook 835 G9

Strengths

The speakers on the 835 G9 are very good in this price range or at least what I paid for it. They're loud, clear, and have reasonably balanced sound from music and movies.
It's a really well-built laptop with a lot to like especially when it comes to Performance if you want that sort of Ultrabook type experience but want to be able to do a little bit of light gaming on the side.
The Windows 11 Pro is a nice bonus for such a budget-friendly device most people won't notice a difference between Windows 11 Pro and home
The webcam has 5 megapixels which should provide better quality compared to lower resolution cameras
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth worked flawlessly, with fast connections and no drops
