Pros and Cons

HP EliteBook 860 G9

Strengths

The device is made entirely of aluminum, making it lightweight and durable (1.76 kg and 19.2 mm profile).
The large 16-in display provides an excellent viewing experience with a maximum brightness of 509 nits.
The keyboard offers long key traveling clicky feedback, making it great for typing.
The laptop has good upgradeability options, including two SODIMM slots and one M.2 slot.
The battery life is impressive, lasting up to 23 hours of web browsing or 13 hours and 31 minutes of video playback.

Weaknesses

The touchpad can be quite finicky and skips all over the place.
The laptop's cooling system is not ideal, with a single heat pipe and fan that struggles to keep up with heavy loads.
The Core i7 processor doesn't score well in benchmarks, falling behind the Core i5 1254U-powered Dell Latitude 7530.
Upgrading to a more powerful CPU (i72 ATP model) is an option, but it's not clear if it would address the cooling issues.
The device's overall performance may suffer from heavy loads like video editing.

HP OMEN 16

Strengths

I like the design, I think it looks really clean, it looks classy
The keyboard deck is very good looking, the keys felt great to use when gaming
You have a fairly good size touch pad at the bottom
Performance was fantastic with some of the best temps I've seen on a gaming laptop in the last few months
Battery life is really good, got really good battery life with this guy
The RGB lighting looks really cool and it's a great feature if that's your thing

Weaknesses

This display is absolutely horrible, they gotta stop sticking displays like this on laptops
Not the most premium feeling laptop on the market
Heat management is very interesting comparing it to other gaming laptops, CPU temps are always up at 88-89 degrees Celsius
You lose out in a little bit of performance when things get crazy on the omen 16 it just power throttles right away
Speakers nothing special, they're on the bottom of the laptop, they're a bit flat and there's no high end or mids are completely drowned out
Only one drive slot, usually with 16 inch notebooks especially gaming laptops you get at least two

Its rounded edges and corners make it feel even thinner in hand. With a generous selection of ports, including two Thunderbolt 4 ports and an HDMI 2.0 port, this laptop is well-equipped for productivity and multitasking. But how does it perform under the hood? And what about its battery life and display quality?

HP OMEN 16

The HP Omen 16 is a sleek and powerful gaming laptop that boasts a unique design aesthetic. Its matte-black chassis exudes a premium look, despite being made from plastic, giving it a clean and effective appearance. Weighing in at 5.2 pounds, this chunky laptop packs a punch with its impressive specs, including an i7-1362H CPU paired with an RTX 4060 GPU.
