Pros and Cons

Lenovo ThinkBook 16p Gen 5

Strengths

Raw processing power if you want raw processing power you can't get any better than in the Intel I-9 14900 HX
Good port selection: three USB typ a ports, two fast Thunderbolt 4 port, HDMI, headphone jack and SD card reader
Upgradeable memory with up to 64 GB of DDR5
Two PCIe 4 x 4 M.2 SSD slots handy if you need more storage or to use a secondary Cash Drive to speed up your workflows

Great upgrade options, making it almost mobile workstation level
NoODed option on one hand the display is superb

Weaknesses

Poor battery life, treat it like a workstation where it sits at a desk all the time
Large and heavy power brick that you have to make room for in your bag
1080p webcam for expensive content created workstation (anything over £1,000 or $1,300 should have a 5 megapixel or standard)
No RJ45 if you're transferring large files over the network
Poor battery life is below average at best
Large and heavy power brick is awkward if you need to move the laptop around daily
Battery life is not suitable for on-the-go use, more of a workstation

LG Gram 16

Strengths

The laptop is super lightweight and has a comfortable keyboard and trackpad.
It doesn't get warm to the touch while using it, making it ideal for casual use like browsing the web or working on office documents.
Battery life is really good, with 60% remaining after 4 hours of Netflix video playback over Wi-Fi.
The laptop's performance is fine for casual tasks like browsing and office work, even if it's not great for intensive tasks.
The external 16-in monitor (LG Grand plus view) matches perfectly with the laptop's display, making it a great addition to give more usable screen space.
Priced at $1,300 for the model with 1 TB of storage, it's a strong option for a certain type of user who values portability and comfort.

Weaknesses

The laptop doesn't perform well enough for its price range, especially in intensive tasks like gaming or video editing.
The screen lacks brightness, making it hard to take advantage of the large 16-in display to see more content on the screen.
Fan noise is noticeable even in normal fan mode, and can be distracting in quiet environments.
Running the laptop on 'no noise' mode heavily throttles its performance, making it unusable for most tasks.
The CPU core temperatures don't hit 100°C during intensive tasks, which might limit its performance potential.
If you plan to do anything intensive with this laptop, it's not a good choice, as it will throttle its performance to stay cool.
