Pros and Cons

Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 1

Strengths

This thing's smaller, it puts out less heat and all of that fun stuff so let's take a look at uh let's jump right into a benchmark
It's super light and I'm used to the five pound laptops of my pass and this is definitely a super light one that you'll be able to get around with
The p series is not made to be rugged but it is made to be powerful with cad and that's what you get here
This may well be the most powerful light system I've ever gotten my hands on

Weaknesses

It feels like it lags a little bit and it feels like it feels like uh well it definitely feels like it lags but it definitely tests kind of poorly too
I expected better performance from this laptop, especially considering its specs
The battery capacity is only 4800 mah, which might be a concern for some users
You won't be able to run this in dual channel due to the single RAM module

HP EliteBook 860 G9

Strengths

The device is made entirely of aluminum, making it lightweight and durable (1.76 kg and 19.2 mm profile).
The large 16-in display provides an excellent viewing experience with a maximum brightness of 509 nits.
The keyboard offers long key traveling clicky feedback, making it great for typing.
The laptop has good upgradeability options, including two SODIMM slots and one M.2 slot.
The battery life is impressive, lasting up to 23 hours of web browsing or 13 hours and 31 minutes of video playback.

Weaknesses

The touchpad can be quite finicky and skips all over the place.
The laptop's cooling system is not ideal, with a single heat pipe and fan that struggles to keep up with heavy loads.
The Core i7 processor doesn't score well in benchmarks, falling behind the Core i5 1254U-powered Dell Latitude 7530.
Upgrading to a more powerful CPU (i72 ATP model) is an option, but it's not clear if it would address the cooling issues.
The device's overall performance may suffer from heavy loads like video editing.
