Pros and Cons

Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 5

Strengths

The built quality is excellent, sturdy and premium with an aluminium chassis.
The new 1.5mm keyboard is comfortable to type on for long hours.
There are plenty of ports to choose from: two Thunderbolt ports, two USB-A ports, HDMI, and RJ45 Ethernet port.
Upgrades are available for memory up to 96GB and m.2 SSD slots.

Weaknesses

The Intel Arc is a useful iGPU, but the optional entry-level RTX 500 AER is not as powerful as one might expect from a mobile workstation.
At full retail price, the ThinkPad P14s Gen 5 is in an ultra-competitive space where your money can go a long way elsewhere.
No configurable option for 4G LTE or 5G connectivity is a letdown
The price starts at £1,210 or $1,568 before taxes, which may be too high for some users

Lenovo Slim Pro 9i

Strengths

The laptop has a great design with rounded edges, metallic gray color, and a camera bar that makes it easy to open single-handedly.
The display is a 14.5 in 3K resolution at 16:10 aspect ratio with 165 HZ refresh rate, making everything look smoother.
The laptop has several ports for connectivity, including HDMI, USB-C, and an SD card reader, which is great for video editors.
The keyboard is great, with good key travel, spacing, and layout, and the function keys are well-chosen and useful.
The speakers on this laptop are some of the best I've heard on a laptop, with loud and clear sound.

Weaknesses

The laptop has some heft to it, making it less portable than others in its class.
There is only one Thunderbolt 4 port, which might be limiting for some users.
The right side of the touchpad sounds a little hollow compared to the left side.
The battery life is around 5 hours, which is not great but not too bad either.
The display has a slightly yellow tint, especially on web pages and documents, although this might be an issue specific to my review unit.

Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 5

The Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 5 is a mobile workstation that promises power and portability in a compact 14-inch package. With its sturdy aluminum chassis, comfortable keyboard, and generous port selection, this laptop appears to be well-suited for creative professionals and corporate users who value practicality over substance. Under the hood, the Intel Core Ultra 755h processor and Arc 8 core iGPU deliver respectable performance, although the optional Nvidia RTX 500 AER GPU may leave some wanting more graphical oomph.

Lenovo Slim Pro 9i

The Lenovo Slim Pro 9i is an incredibly close-to-perfect laptop for creators. Its rounded edges and metallic great color are a refreshing change from traditional ThinkPad designs. The high-resolution webcam and spacious touchpad add to its appeal. However, one major flaw holds it back: the display's slightly yellow tint on the white color setting. A minor calibration issue or isolated problem?
