Pros and Cons

Microsoft Surface Laptop 6

Strengths

The laptop itself is pretty light, you can carry it in one hand pretty easily.
The battery life is actually pretty solid, gets at least 2 to 4 hours on a single charge.
It does have touch screen which is nice
The laptop's weight and battery life are good, making it easy to take around

Weaknesses

It has only one USB port, one USBA port, a headphone jack, and a Microsoft proprietary charging port
The lack of ports means you have to add a dock or buy an adapter for extra connectivity
The laptop is very slow and buggy to use, even on normal daily tasks
Even with 16 GB of RAM, the laptop struggles to open basic apps like folders and web browsers
Apps often don't launch properly, requiring a restart to work
The dock has too many useless ports, including an Ethernet port that's rarely used
The dock lacks USBC, instead using a headphone jack that defeats its purpose
It has four ancient USB-A ports, taking up valuable space and offering no advantage over newer USBC

Lenovo Legion 7

Strengths

The Lenovo Legion 7 has a nice build quality with a metal aluminium lid and bottom panel, giving it a premium feel.
It features a 16-inch 165Hz screen with good response time, decent color gamut, no backlight bleed, and gets fairly bright.
The Legion 7 has plenty of RGB lighting if that's your thing, with 6 built-in firmware effects that don't need software.
You can disable Optimus to result in a speed boost, which is not an option on other laptops.
The battery life can be improved by pressing the function and R shortcut, changing the screen's refresh rate from 165Hz to 60Hz.

Weaknesses

The Legion 7 has a major issue with battery drain when running the Corsair software, drawing between 40-50 watts from the wall.
Closing the Corsair software and stopping the Corsair service can improve battery life, but this means you don't have the option to customize the lighting.
There is no fan control option on the Legion 7, which may be a concern for users who want more customization options.
The power brick is quite large at 300 watts, making it less portable even if you choose a lower-spec model.
The absence of an SD card slot may be a drawback for creators and users who need that feature.

Microsoft Surface Laptop 6

I was excited to start my new job with the Microsoft Surface Laptop 6, but it's been a disastrous experience. This laptop lacks essential ports, including HDMI and extra USB ports, making it difficult to connect external devices. Additionally, it's slow and buggy, frequently freezing even when performing basic tasks. Apps often fail to launch, requiring frequent restarts. The dock is equally frustrating, with unnecessary ports and proprietary connectors that require adapters. A reliable work laptop should be seamless, not a constant source of frustration.

Lenovo Legion 7

The Lenovo Legion 7 is a strong contender in the gaming laptop market, boasting impressive specs such as a Ryzen 9 5900HX processor and full-powered NVIDIA RTX 3080 graphics. Its 16-inch 165Hz screen and decent color gamut make it an appealing option for gamers. However, there's one significant issue that stands out - battery drain, which can be mitigated by disabling the Corsair software.
