Pros and Cons

Motorola Edge 50 Neo

Strengths

The Moto ed50 Neo is one of the few phones that's actually smaller than its predecessor, making it a great option for those who prefer a compact phone.
The phone has IP68 rating against water and dust, as well as military-grade protection against extreme temperatures and conditions.
The display has gotten smaller from 6.55 in to 6.4, but it's still an OLED with high resolution and supports HDR 10 plus video and 10 bit color.
The phone has a stereo speaker setup with very good loudness, making it great for audio
The under-display fingerprint reader is quick and responsive
The phone comes with Moto's new hello UI interface running on top of Android 14, providing a near stock Android experience with some extra motor roller features.
The phone will get longer software support than previous Moto phones, including 5 OS updates and five years of security patches.
The battery life is much better than last year's model, earning a respectable active use score of 13 hours and 29 minutes in our tests.

Weaknesses

The camera interface wasn't that snappy and the automatic photo processing can be inconsistent, ranging from natural to the occasional gritty and over-contrast.
The camera has some reliability issues at night with all cameras, particularly the telephoto camera which often takes out of focus photos.
The ultrawide camera's nighttime photos are okay but soft, with highlights that often get clipped.
Skin tones in selfies can come out a bit reddish depending on the amount of HDR the camera needs to apply
Low light footage taken with the main camera is only just okay in terms of sharpness and dynamic range
The phone's form factor may not appeal to everyone, especially those who prefer larger screens.
The phone does not have a telephoto camera zoom as good as other competitors, particularly at night
The ultrawide camera can take close-up macro shots but the nighttime Ultra-wide photos are okay and often soft

vivo Y37 Pro

In an era where smartphones are becoming increasingly premium, the $150 price range has lost some of its former glory. However, there's still a significant demand for budget-friendly options that offer solid performance and practical features. The Vivo Y37 Pro, part of Vivo's Y series, targets this segment with a well-balanced combination of design, durability, and functionality. The phone's elegant design belies its affordable price, featuring a clean and minimalistic flat body with rounded corners and smooth transitions. The back cover boasts an advanced coating technology that creates a visually stunning effect, resembling a sea of flowers. Weighing in at 199g and measuring 8.09mm in thickness, the phone is both comfortable to hold and easy to carry. The Vivo Y37 Pro sports a 6.68-inch LCD panel with a high refresh rate of up to 120Hz, ensuring smooth scrolling and a responsive touch experience. The screen's brightness reaches up to 7237 nits, making it easily readable under direct sunlight. The phone is also equipped with a large 6000mAh battery that offers exceptional longevity, lasting through a full day of heavy use. The Vivo Y37 Pro features a 50MP primary camera on the back and a 5MP front camera, delivering decent results in well-lit conditions. The phone's AI-driven photo processing capabilities are particularly noteworthy, allowing users to remove unwanted objects from their photos with ease. With fast charging support and respectable speeds, the battery life is more than sufficient for most users. The Vivo Y37 Pro is a testament to the fact that budget smartphones can still offer a well-rounded experience. With its durable design, impressive battery life, and sufficient performance for everyday tasks, it remains a strong contender in the $150 price range.
