Pros and Cons

MSI Prestige 14

Strengths

The webcam is clear and has good quality.
This laptop falls into category number two, balance Middle Ground laptop that has a dedicated graphics card hard for me to do occasional renderings in
It would be great for graphic design and video editing as long as it's not color critical due to the display
The performance series CPU is doing some leg work and v-ray shows significantly better results than 9th gen i7 in desktop or 11th gen i7 in a laptop
This laptop would be excellent for Revit, with many tasks being CPU bound
It has a good display size of 14 inches which is quite appealing to those who find the 13 inch too small and 15 too big
MSI's website has had it on sale for 11.99 dollars for quite some time now
The MSRP of this laptop is 1499 US Dollars, making it a reasonable purchase

Weaknesses

The RTX 3050 GPU struggles to keep up with other GPUs if the laptop was equipped with more vram or better GPUs like 3060
The display size, while good, may be too small for some users and too big for others
The battery life is only around 4 hours, which may not be enough for heavy users
The CPU-bound renderings in V-ray show significantly slower results than desktops with the same CPU
The GPU performance in benchmarks like Enscape shows it struggling to keep up with other laptops or better GPUs
Having a dedicated graphics card makes occasional renderings possible, but not frequent ones
It may be considered too weak for users who frequently do renderings or heavy GPU work

Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 Gen 2

Strengths

The gorgeous OLED display is excellent.
Excellent CPU performance per watt, really good modern industrial design, actually a big fan of it.
Zen 4 Ryzen Pro options here, fast SD card reader, good battery life even with the OLED option, expect even better battery life for the IPS offering.
The sensil haptic touchpad here is improved this time around, very responsive and works as you'd expect, very very seamless and very very good.
The keyboard is actually really good, the tactility, feedback, overall key travel was very good.
Very good results when it comes to scrolling and doing all the gestures with the touchpad.
Dual user-facing speakers with Dolby Atmos, which helps with the spatial audio, and the sound is pretty good in dynamic mode.
The modern industrial design actually a big fan of it.
Good battery life, even with the OLED option.
