Pros and Cons

Razer Blade 17

Strengths

The machine is just beautiful, it definitely feels like it's built out of pretty premium materials which gives you the impression that it's gonna last a really long time.
Sound quality is MacBook Pro level, I was pretty impressed considering many gaming laptops have speakers that sound almost worse than smartphone speakers.
Webcam finally stepped up to 1080p and does look quite a bit better than the others.
The machine had Macbook pro level quality

Weaknesses

Price is a major concern, Razer Blade 17 is quite expensive compared to its competition for what it can do and no options that i've seen so far for discounts
Battery life is terrible, the machine absolutely burns through power do not get this computer if you plan to use it unplugged pretty frequently.
Performance isn't as fast as the competition, especially when comparing it to other machines with gpus with 175 watts max graphics power versus the 165 with this one.
Keyboard is uncomfortable to type on, key presses are just so shallow that sometimes it almost made me second guess whether I actually fully pressed a key or not.

MSI Raider 18 HX

Strengths

This laptop delivers the ultimate 4K gaming experience.
The thermal management system is amazing, with minimal blockage and a noise level of approximately 60 dB under peak loads.
You get plenty of options for self-upgradability, including two DDR5 slots (upgradable to 96 GB) and two M.2 slots (including one PCI Gen 5 slot).
The battery life is 99.9 Whr, although this doesn't necessarily mean much in a gaming laptop with powerful hardware.
The speaker system is decent, with good volume, highs, and mids, as well as some bass.
The build quality is good, and you get plenty of ports to work with.
This laptop is designed for those who want the ultimate gaming experience on-the-go.

Weaknesses

It's an 18-inch laptop that's heavy, bulky, and not designed for portability.
The trade-offs are quite visible, making it feel more like a mini desktop than a traditional laptop.
Gaming on battery life is limited due to the powerful hardware.
