Pros and Cons

Samsung Notebook 9 Pro

Strengths

Samsung really tried to balance everything out right, giving you good performance, good features, plus a little bit of gaming.
The laptop has a really nice 1920 by 1080 LED display.
It's got not only a 720p webcam at the top but also a face sensor for Windows Hello login.
The keyboard is really nice with curved keys that are sensitive and enjoyable to use.
The trackpad is also very responsive and nice to use.
Underneath, you'll find an Intel Core i7-7500U processor, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, a 256GB SSD, and eSATA for fast data transfer.
The laptop has a discreet Radeon 540 GPU, which provides good mid-range gaming performance.
The battery life is very good, lasting up to 590 minutes in our video rundown test.

Weaknesses

The speakers are not very good and don't have much volume.
They're not loud enough even when cranked up, making it hard to hear movies or audio.
The laptop's weight is a bit more than expected due to the discreet GPU, but still bearable at 3.8 pounds.
The AC adapter adds an extra 0.7 pounds, making the whole package feel slightly heavier.
Despite its small size, the vents can be felt when using the laptop on your lap.
The performance is not significantly different from other laptops with similar configurations.
The HP Spectre x360 has almost identical specs and performs similarly in benchmarks.
The only real standout feature of this laptop is the pen support, which is tacked into the body.

MSI Sword 15

Strengths

The machine has an 11th gen i7 and an rtx 3060, making it a powerful laptop for gaming and other demanding tasks.
The keyboard is very familiar to the reviewer, who has owned previous MSI laptops, although they find the keys slightly condensed.
The trackpad is perfectly fine for web browsing, despite having some flex when pressing the keys.
The 144Hz IPS display provides a good viewing experience, with adequate brightness even in daytime use.
The laptop's internal components are well-cooled, with two downwards-facing speakers and a 52 watt hour battery providing a good balance of performance and power management.

Weaknesses

The build quality is fairly cheap, with most of the material being used as plastic and plenty of flex in the chassis.
The IO ports are limited, with no ports on the back and only a headphone jack, microphone combo, usb 3.2 gen 1 type a and type c port, hdmi out, and gigabit ethernet available.
The battery life is extremely disappointing, with inconsistent results ranging from one to three hours even while doing the same task.
The webcam is relatively naturally lit, but appears fairly fuzzy and may not be suitable for serious video conferencing or content creation.
The laptop gets fairly loud while gaming, which may be a problem for users who prefer quiet computing.
